prioritizing harm-free(dom)

We want everyone at this conference to have a harm-free experience.  Fostering an inclusive environment is our priority. This conference aims to connect thoughtful and active individuals and networks near and far to create an ecosystem of community organizers, protectors, and movers.  People of all backgrounds are welcome and we wish to inspire each other to build relationships through sharing and witnessing each others’ successes, struggles, lessons, and questions.

Systemically/structurally, we reduce harm and foster inclusivity by:

  •      No one  turned away for lack of funds
  •      Designating scent-free spaces
  •      Physical accessibility

Our aim with the Inclusivity Conference is to create a relaxing space for participants to celebrate diversity in an environment free from oppressive behaviors or remarks. For example, we do this in our person-to-person interactions by refraining from harmful speech and non-consensual contact of any kind (unwelcome hugs, uninvited hair touching, etc.). We will not tolerate any forms of racism, homophobia, xenophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, fat-shaming, sizeism and/or ableism. Bigotry, disrespect and hatred are unwelcome. Children of all ages are welcome. The event is wheelchair accessible. Compassion, kindness and respect are encouraged.

Fragrance-Free Space: Out of respect for people with environmental illnesses, we request that everyone attending the Inclusivity Conference refrain from wearing fragrances. This includes clothing that has been laundered with fragranced detergent or softening products. We greatly appreciate your efforts to make the Inclusivity Conference accessible to those with MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities). There will be designated fragrance-free seating and spaces.
